Refund policy
We offer a 30-Day No Questions Asked Return Policy. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase we will be happy to accept returns within 30 days of original purchase. Items must be in new condition and not showing any use or wear with the original tags, paperwork and packaging included. After 30 days the manufacturer warranty will apply for any repairs or replacements.
Once a kayak has been used the sale is final. Due to the cost of shipping, our 30-Day No Questions Asked Return Policy does not apply to kayaks. All shipped kayaks sales are final however freight damage will be handled on a case by case basis.
Custom outfitted kayak sales are final including any installed accessories.
Special Order kayaks that have been paid for but not picked up must be claimed within 180 days of purchase. If we receive no communication from the customer during this period, Yakworks Kayak of Southport reserves the right to donate or resell the kayak without further notice. We make every effort to contact customers before this deadline. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure timely pickup or to arrange alternate storage or delivery options. No refunds or credits will be issued after the 180-day period has expired.

Refunds
We typically process refunds within 2 business days of an item coming back to our warehouse. Once refunded, our system will send an email confirmation of the refund. If you do not see a refund confirmation please feel free to follow-up with us so we can look into the situation and help out.
Return shipping will not be refunded.
In-Store Layaway
Yakworks Kayak of Southport requires a 20% security deposit or up $200 to open a layaway with us; with the remaining balance to be paid in full by the date set at the time of layaway. We agree to hold your item(s) until the final payment date and will not offer them for sale to any other customers during the layaway period. There is no payment schedule or amount required but it is your obligation to be sure the total amount is paid by the final payment due date set at the time of layaway. Each payment will be processed through our store computer system and you will receive a receipt with each payment. A duplicate receipt will be attached to the layaway agreement for balance tracking and history.
You can cancel your layaway within 30-days from layaway agreement date. If you cancel your layaway after 30-days from layaway agreement date, you will lose your security deposit but any payments made above the security deposit will be refunded. You will be contacted seven days prior to the final payment due date to arrange your final payment and item(s) pickup. If you are not able to pay the remaining balance in full by the final payment date;
- your items will be placed back on the sales floor for other customers to purchase immediately,
- we will contact you by phone to let you know the layaway agreement has ended,
- we will issue a refund for any payments made less the security deposit amount to your original credit card(s) or by check.
